The Project
McCoy Contractors were appointed to deliver groundworks and drainage infrastructure for a new distribution centre on behalf of McLaren and TJ Morris. The scheme included a significant drainage package:
- Over 7 miles of drainage installation
- Pipe sizes ranging from 150mm up to 1200mm in diameter
- Integrated manholes and access structures
- A challenging programme requiring tight delivery schedules
The Solution
To meet the project demands, McCoy worked with Drainfast to source and supply Aquaspira Composite Steel Reinforced (CSR) Pipes—a high-performance alternative to concrete.
These pipes provided:
- Reduced excavation due to slimmer profiles
- Faster installation with push-fit joints
- Lower embodied carbon, supporting sustainability goals
- Long-term durability and resistance to corrosion
