By 2018, Thakeham had made it to the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 and in 2022 were recognised as the Best Construction and Engineering company to work for in the country

Thakeham used MuckStopper at Springbok Estates, Alfold, a development of ninety-nine housing units. This convinced them that the environmental and operational benefits of protecting manholes, inspection chambers and road gullies far outweigh the costs. As MuckStopper can be reused time and again, the initial cost is soon repaid by the time saved cleaning up before sign-off.

They also value the increased safety of using MuckStopper, as workers no longer need to enter confined spaces to clear out silt and debris.

In time this will become a product that is used normally on all sites. It causes problems for us when we have CCTV surveys to prove that our drains are clean, clear and built correctly. You can get a back up of storm water in the drains which causes problems with getting clean water going out to attenuation tanks and filtration systems.

I think its a great product, it saves a lot of time with cleaning manholes, safety for workers getting into manholes - confined spaces. The benefits outweigh the costs. The MuckStopper is a solid structure, its not going to get damaged, you can reuse it again and again. The industry is changing and developing daily and this is part of it. I think it should be mandatory across all projects. It ticks all of the boxes for ourselves and the client.
