What does a B125 manhole cover rating mean?
The B125 manhole cover rating describes drainage covers that have been load tested up to 125kN or, 12500kg. They are suitable for use in low-traffic, medium-weight situations where laden vehicles may manoeuvre slowly.
What materials are B125 manhole covers made from?
We manufacture B125 manhole covers from ductile iron to provide the most robust covers we can. Ductile iron has an excellent strength to weight ratio, making it much more affordable to work with than steel. This material also has good fracture resistance.
Where can B125 covers be installed?
The B125 rating is typically used on driveways, forecourts for light commercial delivery or light industrial areas, footpaths where vehicles may mount the kerb and areas where pallet trucks may operate.

Are B125 manhole covers easy to install?
Yes, simply fit the frame over the chamber opening and make sure it is fully supported. Encase the flange in concrete or bedding mortar at a minimum depth of 10mm.
