Frequently specified for larger domestic projects and commercial developments, 600mm inspection chambers allow easier inspection, rodding, jetting and maintenance of higher-spec drainage systems that use 160mm, 250mm and 315mm pipe diameters. The extra room over smaller systems improves working space and long-term serviceability, making them practical for efficient access and compliance with Building Regulations Part H.

A 600mm inspection chamber offers more efficient access to your drainage system for a range of regular maintenance needs. The larger internal diameter improves visibility and tool manoeuvrability, making CCTV surveys, jetting, rodding, repair work and other maintenance tasks more straightforward.

Greater chamber capacity also supports larger diameter pipe connections and, therefore, higher flow volumes for commercial installations, while remaining compliant with regulations. On straight pipe runs, inspection chambers should be installed at least every 22 metres, and also where pipe diameters change, at junctions and where pipe direction changes by more than 30 degrees.

What Depth Can a 600mm Inspection Chamber be Installed To?

Usually down to 1200mm (1.2 metres) in depth. Deeper installations, such as down to 3000mm (3 metres), are possible, as long as the opening is restricted by a chamber reducing ring for safety and legal compliance. Going too deep makes access, inspection, jetting and rodding too difficult to be practical, so most systems follow the 1200mm rule.
